The following list outlines the obligations a member must meet to maintain good standing within Churchill's NHS Chapter:
*Members who do not meet one or more of these expectation may be subjected to the disciplinary and dismissal process.
*Membership will not be denied due to the inability to pay the dues outlined above. New members who have a financial difficulty and are unable to pay their dues should see Mrs. Chance or Mr. Reinhard as soon as possible to discuss alternatives.
- Academic Standards: Members must maintain at least a 90 cumulative grade point average throughout their tenure within the Chapter.
- Exemplary Conduct: Members must maintain conduct that is consistent with the NHS's four pillars: character, scholarship, leadership, and service.
- Meetings: Members must attend all general meetings held by the Chapter. Meetings are held monthly throughout the school year and will be communicated through the Churchill Morning Announcements, emails to the member distribution list, Remind texts, and fliers in selected classrooms.
- Chapter Outreach Projects: Members are required to participate in at least one Chapter Outreach Project per year. Chapter Outreach Projects are community service focused activities organized and executed by the Chapter. There will be at least one Outreach project in both the Fall and Spring semesters.
- Individual Service Hours: In addition to the Chapter Outreach Projects noted above, members are to engage in additional service according to their own talents and interests. Members are expected to earn at least ten (10) service hours per semester, earning at least five (5) per academic nine-week grading period. Two (2) of the semester total must be earned through NHS Sponsored Opportunities. NHS Sponsored Opportunities are those community-based projects endorsed by the Chapter; these are not Outreach Projects.
- Dues: New members must pay dues of $10 within 30 days of Induction.* Returning members are not required to pay additional dues during their second year of membership.
